Three come along at once!

Its been two months since my last post, and things are moving along swimmingly. The new job is going well, but it has had an effect on my hobby time.

However in the past week not one or two but three kickstarters have arrived.

First up we have Hawk Wargames: Dropfleet Commander which I back just before Christmas last year (2015) dscn1023However over time and after receiving the pledge I am on the fence as to weather I want to keep it or not.

Next Up we have the big one Monolith Games: Conan which was backed way back at the beginning of 2015.dscn0995This is only part of the pledge, their are still some expansions to ship in wave 2.

Lastly we have Mantic Games The Walking Dead: All Out War. Which I backed at the beginning of this year (2016) dscn1024

The question is were do I start?

Its been a while (nearly 4 months), and its time to look back at the various KS projects I have backed. So since the last post Deadzone Infestation has turned up see here

Deadzone: Infestation Pt 2……………….

and here.

Deadzone: Infestation Pt 3

As has Wave 2 of AvP

Get Away From Her, You Bitch!…………..

and also Wave 1.5 of Shadows Of brimstone.

The Good, The Bad, And The Mutated…………

and here.

The Good, The Bad, And The Mutated Part 2…………

Lets take a look at what else has happened.

All Quite On the Martian Front: Another company has bought all of the moulds and IP from alien dungeon, however they have stated that they will not full fill any out standing KS items to backers. In other words if you want it you have to pay again!

Shadows Of Brimstone: the next expansion Trederra has been previewed, and it has grown from what it was originally. It is now classed as a “deluxe” expansion.

Aliens vs Predator: Nothing new on the AvP front, apart from a preview of the dropship from Aliens.

Conan: Looks like wave 1 will ship in October (one year later than planed) with wave two following later on.

Zombicide BP: Has just arrived, an boy is the box big!  I did not go for everything this time (like I did with season 3) but their is a hell of a lot of stuff.

Warpath: I only backed this to grab some bits for deadzone, but it would seem that mantic are receiving a lot of flak over some decisions with the new rules. As well as a few of their other KS projects.

Dropfleet Commander: Seems to be going well with delivery next month!

The Walking Dead: Mantic have shown us the new plastic terrain and 2 of the 5 mats for the game. Shipping has been pushed back till October (even i think September was pushing it)

Now lets go have a look at Zombicide Black Plague……………………….

Its time to take a look at the various KS projects that I have backed………

All Quite On The Martian Front: As I said in the last KS post AQOTMF is dead! I have recived to letters from the states (as have many backers) from the the US bankruptcy courts, which means I will get nothing as their is nothing left. At the moment I am unsure if I want to hold on to what I have or to part with it.

Shadows Of Brimstone: Wave 1.5 is on its way! (well it has been since the 29th of February) It seems to have been caught up at UK customs for about 10 days now hopefully their will be some progress soon.

Alien vs Predator: So as we came towards the end of February had anything turned up?  and what did Prodos do? drop a bomb shell that they had run out of plastic door bases, adding yet another delay in getting Wave 2 out of the door. On the 10th I sent a message to both of the Prodos emails. Saying “that I was not worried about the plastic stands, and if it would speed things up send my wave 2 with out them” After all I have 2 copies of the game from wave 1, and the third is only for the models. Low and behold the next day I received an email telling me my order has been partially sent. Lets see what happens.

Conan: Nothing new, but Monolith still post semi regular updates showing things like the layouts of the card components, prototype boxes, painted models, etc. Despite the project being delayed the guys at Monolith still take the time to show backers stuff.

Deadzone Infestation: Looks like the rulebook has only just gone to print, and mantic hope to get everything shipped by later this month. Hopefully this time things are better then the 1st edition.

Zombicide BP: Looks to be gearing up for dispatch in the next few weeks.

Warpath: Still sitting on the fence, I was hoping that DZ:I would arrive so that I could see what this new plastic is like. As it stands now I may well give it a miss.

Dropfleet Commander: Hawk Wargames have sown quite a few digital renders over the past month or so, with the space station catching my eye.

The Walking dead: As I said in the last KS post I was sitting on he fence with the WD game, but in the end I stuck with it. And in the end it raised $685.853, it did however suffer from Mantic not throwing loads of “shit” at the project as they have done before. However I threw $235.00 at the project, netting me the “something to fear” pledge as well as the Woodbury and Prison expansions, as well as the scenery booster. when the pledge manger comes out I will proberly add another $50 for the other 3 deluxe mats.

So with any luck this month should hopefully see 3 projects turn up Shadows Of Brimstone, Alien vs Predator, and Deadzone: Infestation.

With Zombicide: BP next month.

Its been sometime since I looked at the various Kick Starter projects that I have backed, so lets see what is happening.

All Quite On The Martian Front: Dead in the water! Alien Dungeon/Robot Peanut/Architects of War posted a update on the 28th of January which can been seen here.

All Quite Update #173

reading between the lines, it looks like too much was offered during the KS project to help the future of the product line!

Aliens Vs Predator: Things started to hot up over on the Facebook page over Christmas with various insults both towards prodos and members of staff. However wave 2 is meant to be finished by the end of the month (February) however I have not heard anything and the pledge manger still says “awaiting”. We will have to see what happens!

Shadows Of Brimstone: Hopefully wave 1.5 will be sent in the next few weeks the last few components are due to arrive on the 11th, however a little bit of a storm in a tea cup was started a few weeks ago when FFP announced that the additional hero packs would be made in resin rather then plastic as were the models in the base sets. This has upset a number of backers, but if they are better than the base heroes its a good thing!

Conan: Delayed until June due to the Chinese new year. Monolith have however been showing off models on  a semi regular basis, thus keeping backers “in the loop”.

Zombicide BP: CMON sent out the core game just before Christmas with the rest to follow around June time. I have not really had a look at BP yet, in fact its still in its shipping box!

Deadzone Infestation: A lot has changed since the DZ:I project finished. First up a change of material for some of the models. Most of the NON plastic (so restic/metal) models have now been changed to another type of plastic (hopefully not the shit that was used for Mars Attacks). And secondly The rules, seem to have changed quite a bit from the “tidy” up we were told about, now I have not read the beta rules yet as quite frankly they hurt my eyes to read. But from the comments I have read, a lot of what I liked has gone. But in all fairness I was not interested in the rules more the terrain and plastic Veer-myn. Hopefully March will see stuff start to deliver.

Warpath: Now I had hoped that DZ:I would have turned up before the pledge manger for warpath closed. However that has gone out the window with the DZ:I not being shipped until March and the warpath pledge manger closing on the 29th of February. In all fairness I have no intressed in the warpath rules just some of the models, but I wanted to see how the DZ:I models turned out before spending more money on warpath models.

Dropfleet Commander: I backed this mainly because I liked the ship models (as well as the ground combat game Dropzone commander) delivery is set for June 2016.

Now a few days ago Mantic launched their new KS for The Walking Dead miniatures game base on the comics (and not the TV show) however I am a little underwhelmed by the project at the moment. As it stands the core box contains 18 miniatures and the Atlanta expansion contains 6 miniatures their have also been 8 extra miniatures added from stretch goals giving a grand total of 32 models! all for $125.00 (£86.00) and at the moment I just cannot see any value in it. Who knows it may pick up some momentum we will just have to see, If not I will stick to Zombicide.

This year has had its ups and downs. I started the year pushing All Quite On The Martian Front at my local game store, which lead to them picking up some of the range. This lead to a small group of players gaming every few weeks in the local store.

February/March: brought not one but TWO kickstarter pledges in the form of Tablescapes Tiles and Zombicide Season 3 (which was the most viewed post of the year!)

April/May: Saw me working on my Imperial Knights and Skitarii as well as some Cites Of Death terrain for 40K

June: Saw the arrival of another kickstarter pledge in the form of  Incursion from Grind House Games. Also released was the Terminator Genisys game from River Horse.

July: Saw the arrival of AvP: The Hunt Begins board game from Prodos Games.

August: Saw a group of us start to play Shadows of Brimstone, as well as the redecorating of my gaming/dinning room.

September: Saw me give Judge Dredd ago (again).

October/November: Saw me playing Terminator: Genisys and Shadows Of Brimstone.

December: has been rather quite on the gaming front.

Kickstarter wise I have backed the year

Conan: From Monolith Games.

Blood Rage and Zombicide Black Plague: From CMON.

Deadzone: Infestation and Warpath : From Mantic Games.

Drop Fleet Commander: From Hawk Wargames.

Of these only Blood Rage has shipped completely, while the base set of Zombicide has also been shipped (with the rest due sometime in February).

From last years list their are still 3 outstanding.

AvP: From Prodos Games, hopefully 95% will be finished by the end of February

Shadows Of Brimstone: From Flying Frog Games, will hopefully be finished by the end of the year. I have taken up the 1.5 wave shipping.

All Quite On The Martian Front: From Alien Dungeon, looks to be dead in the water with the company going bust!

Movie wise I have only seen one film this year and that was Terminator: Genisys, which while not as good as T1 and T2 did serve as a good “reboot”. It was however strange not going to see a film over the Xmas period but their was not much that I wanted to see (I can wait for Star Wars to be released on Blu-Ray).

All in all its been a year of ups and downs, I have played some good games Terminator: Genisys, Shadows Of Brimstone, and to a certain extent AvP (it has its problems) as well as losing interest in some!
